Inspired by a true story. Scorned by a painful harassment incident, guarded tomboy Riley (Naomi Grace) battles sexism, sibling rivalry, and self-acceptance as she fights her way onto her high school’s all-male varsity football team. While she navigates joining the team and winning the league championship, her relationships with her traditional mother Candace (Sharon Leal), who despises her playing football, and male best friend, Eli (Jesse Lambright)—who’s secretly dating her overachieving sister, Tyler (Elshaday Aredo)—are tested. Yet none of these obstacles come close to her greatest challenge: Riley is juggling her budding sexuality with her first-ever crush on a girl named Paige (Mirella Cardozo), who just so happens to be the coach’s daughter.
