Synopsis: Inspired by a true story. On her birthday, Sofia (Keturah Chambers) agrees to meet her ex-boyfriend, Ben (Aaron Fontaine), at his home for dinner despite her best friend, Emily (Nkechi Simms), saying it’s a bad idea. Everything is going well until Sofia is kidnapped from Ben’s home. The next day, Ben calls the police and tells Detective Wilson (Wil Johnson) that the intruder tied them up before taking Sofia. Ben is the prime suspect until the press receives a video of Sofia kissing her captor, and Detective Wilson declares that Sofia faked her own kidnapping. Meanwhile, Sofia is being held by a masked intruder who only lets her go after becoming frustrated by the press attention. Desperate for someone to believe her, Sofia says she was forced to make the video, but public perception isn’t in her favor – except for a reporter named Jessica (Emily Eaton-Plowright), who thinks Sofia is innocent and offers to help her. After uncovering the intruder, Jessica confronts him and learns that Emily hired him in a desperate attempt to get Ben to herself. But is there more to the story than meets the eye?
