Synopsis:

YELLOWSTONE TO YOSEMITE explores the region’s rich Indigenous American legacy, the serendipitous arrival of outsiders in 1850, and how John Muir evolved from an unknown Scottish immigrant to a crusader for our wildest places. Through host Costner’s distinctive perspective, this series illuminates the profound struggle waged by Muir, a philosopher at heart, as he contended with the intricate politics of resource management on the untamed frontier. The series also explores how Roosevelt’s timely intervention culminated in the establishment of a more structured National Park System, the creation of 150 National Forests, five National Parks, and the preservation and protection of a staggering 230 million acres of precious land.
